Storm and insurance work

Storm work runs on the insurer's clock rather than ours. The inspection and the photographs happen fast, then there is a wait while somebody is assigned and the claim is decided, then the roof gets built. That wait is the part nobody explains, so it is set out here.

01 · From the storm to the crew

Dated photographs and a measurement, which carry a claim further than any description written later.

Questions about claims

01How long is the wait in the middle?

Days to weeks, on the insurer's timetable. A claim moving slowly looks exactly like a claim moving normally, which is why the quiet stretch worries people more than it should.

02Will you cover my deductible?

No. A roofer who offers that is proposing fraud on a document carrying your name. Send them away and be glad you found out early.

03What happens if the adjuster misses damage?

A supplement goes in with the evidence attached and the insurer looks again. It is a normal step in the process rather than the start of an argument.

One number for your roof, not a range.

The inspection is free. We walk the roof and leave one signed figure on a single sheet.
