01How long does an architectural shingle roof last in Florida?
Twenty to twenty-five years with the sun we get. The manufacturer's number is longer. Ours is the one we have seen on real roofs in Pinellas.
02Will my insurer accept a shingle roof?
Yes, and most insurers price shingle as standard. Some ask for a wind mitigation inspection after the work, which we arrange.
03Can you go over the old shingles?
Florida code allows one layer over one, but we do not. A second layer hides the decking, and the decking is where the surprise costs live.
